Varsity Football Beats Tomball 46-28

Varsity opened the season with a 46-28 victory over Tomball HS. The march toward victory started on the first play from scrimmage, when Nash Rankin connected with Luke Rives on a 75-yard touchdown pass. This was the beginning of a 28-point first quarter that kept the Spartans leading throughout the game. The offense produced a total of 607 yards (397 passing, 210 rushing), with 9 different players contributing to the total yards and 4 different players scoring a total of 6 touchdowns. The defense faced a strong ground attack from Tomball and was able to hold their offense to 3 touchdowns and 1 field goal. The fourth Tomball touchdown occurred on a kickoff return. The Spartan's next game is at Tully this Friday, 7:00 pm, vs. Oak Ridge.
