Like the birds flying above Jersey Village stadium,  JV Spartans took to their triangle positions- with fluidity and tactical acumen in their zones that gave few chances of ball possession for the Falcons. Their moving parts call to mind the turning of the kaleidoscope, evolving with each stop and turn and revealing their true color of “never give up” mindset even with a comfortable lead. Our colorful Coach Gusart and his high value on unity is evident in the way JV fights for each other on the pitch and how they enjoy each other off the pitch. His love for the game and his players reflect the best part of their individuality and as a team.

And in the spirit of great coaches and The Irish, “You’ve got to make a sincere attempt to have the right goal to begin with, then go after them with appropriate effort, and remember that you can’t really achieve anything without the help of others” Lou Holtz

Tis’ Spartan goal achieving breakdown:

With a stellar assist from Gracie Howard, Elizabeth Bryd busted a move and got us in the score making groove.

Purple lost the ball and seemed a bit stunned as Gracie Howard picked it up and launched it in the right corner as the goalie plunged

Cassidy Syamken up the middle with a shamrockin’ strike, put the gold in the pot for the third goal of the night.  This wasn’t counted by a referee’s call, but this eye-popping play was too good not to mention at all.

Kate Michael’s ” fly me to the moon” penalty kick bent the light and added the third goal of the night.

Brooke McAfee big diagonal rip, made the ball transcend and shut out the lights to bring the game to the end

Fitting it seems, blue and yellow make green.  Bold bicolor support for the people 6000 miles away, we hope one day for your freedom to play.  Spartans, you are all the hues that make a beautiful light, go illuminate the world and keep up the good fight.  Let’s go Green!

Thank you to all the parents and fans who supported the JV Team this season.  It was a great run!

The future of Spartan soccer is bright!
