The JV-A boys split a pair of games this week to bring the team’s record to 5-4-3 heading into the final week of the season. The Spartans began the week by avenging an earlier loss to the Red Team with a 2-0 victory at home. In identical fashion to the earlier game between the two squads, the game was primarily a defensive battle which headed into the second half scoreless. This time, it was the Spartans who were successful on offensive late in the game, with striker Elliot Hines finishing on a nice team play to put the Spartans up 1-0 late in the second half. This was followed by a goal scored by the fabulous Fabu Ndayishimye in the final minutes for an insurance goal in the 2-0 victory.

The Spartans went on the road at Cy-Creek on Friday night and once again fought to a scoreless tie in the first half despite the Spartans controlling possession for the majority of the half. A defensive misplay on the opening kickoff resulted in a goal for Cy-Creek and a 1-0 lead to start the second half. The Spartans fought hard to tie the game, but were unable to net a goal in the 1-0 loss.
