Strafford JV Women’s Soccer Vs. Cy -Creek  High School (7-0 Win)

The ball took many flights Tuesday night and landed cleanly in the net 7 times and left a clean sheet for the Spartans. This month as we reflect on matters of the heart, evidence of love was all around as a pack of grandparents, parents, and friends trekked away from home to watch our team.  As the heart pumped to expend a large amount of energy for play, it also exerted to our jaws as it dropped watching:

Layla Walker’s a corner kick with Ally Evett heading it into the net for the first goal

A crescendo cross from Nicole Abby for the second goal

Claire Lamon ‘s cross pass to the feet of Elizabeth Byrd’s putting action on the ball for the third goal

Haygood and Howard working like pinball machine off each other’s feet down field

with Chassity finishing it off for the fourth goal

With the warm up song playing in the background, “We found love in a hopeless place”, a well versed plan played out as Kaylann and Chassity found themselves alone in Cy-Creek’s place.  Their spectacular speed proved hopeless for the blue, with a cross from Chassity, Mandley to the left corner for the fifth goal.

Once again, a lonely stand-off between Mandley and Cy-Creek goalie after her radiant run resulted in another strike of the ball for the sixth goal.   (Go Chassity Go! We do like your hat)

Bre Blaylock kept the rhythm alive and finished the night off with the seventh goal with a back flip to boot!

Overall, excellent ball movement executed by each position was fun and a joy to watch. This joy was surely good for the heart.  Until next week Spartans, look for the places in need of love and fill it with more hope.  Your soccer familia adores you.

Strafford JV Women’s Soccer Vs. Jersey Village HS (7-1)

Stratford JV came out looking for a decisive victory against Jersey Village on Friday night, ending the evening with a 7-1 victory.  The first goal came from Nicole Abbey, followed by a goal from Gracie Howard.  The third goal came from a nice cross from Chassity Mandley who had Gracie Howard waiting to strike the ball into the back of the net.  The fourth goal was scored from a well placed pass by Hannah Haygood to Ally Evetts.  The firth goal of the night was scored by Bre Blaylock from a cross from Nicole Abbey.  The sixth goal was scored by a corner kick from Kate Michals to Hannah Haygood and finally the game ended after the team’s seventh goal from Kaylann Vinson-Gay.  Our defensive line remained strong throughout the game. Well played girls!!!
