The Freshman B team brought their terrific season to an end on Wednesday with an unfortunate tough 52-39 loss against a physical Cy-Fair team, but the Spartans can hold their heads high finishing as district champions with a 13-1 record in district and an 18-2 record overall.  The Spartans lost one of their best rebounders, Cameron Cocheu, to an early ankle injury and the Bobcats took advantage using a dominating performance on the offensive boards, providing too many second chance scoring opportunities that proved to be the difference.

Stat leaders:

A. Marks – 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, 2 deflections

L. Pine – 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 deflection

Overall, the Spartans had an excellent season that saw growth and contributions from everyone on the team.  Under the poised leadership of Coach Bryant, the Spartans played the kind of selfless basketball that is a hallmark of the entire Stratford basketball program.  The team encouraged one another and exuded great team chemistry from beginning to end, making it a joy to watch them all season.
