Stratford JV at Cy Ridge: Friday, January 31 - Win: 59-44
Following a very disappointing performance against Cy Falls earlier in the week at home (where things kind of fell apart in the second half), Stratford definitely needed a recharge. And clearly the visit to Cy Ridge helped provide that spark. It was a full team effort and a fast start for the Spartans. With an early two from Ben Harris, a three from Teagan Tedrow, a put-back from Javian Greenwood, and another Teagan three, Stratford jumped up 10-0, setting the tone for their hustle and overall rhythm most of the game. Jaelaun Rosser added a very slick reverse layup on a Cody Hanlen pass, putting the team up 23-7 to finish the first quarter.
Continuing strong team play, the Spartans extended the lead to 39-22 at the midpoint. The second half was primarily focused on maintaining the double-digit lead with solid contributions from various team members on both ends of the court.
Alex Harris led the team with 20 points, the recipient of great assists and his foul-drawing drives to the basket, followed by Teagan Tedrow with 13 (including a mix of threes, mid-rangers, and lay-ups). Cody Hanlen drove in for 10, Javian Greenwood added 6, and Ben Harris had 5.
The team hopes to stay back on the winning track this week with the Memorial rematch.
