On Tuesday, October 29th, the Stratford Swim Team headed to Strake Jesuit’s pool to compete against Strake/St. Agnes in the annual sprint meet. For this meet, the event distances are halved, and there is no 500 free or 400 free relay. The weather was nice with a gentle breeze, and there was a beautiful sunset in a cloud-filled sky behind the results board. The meet was generally bad for spectators (barring the beautiful sunset) since the starting blocks are located right in front of the spectator bleachers, but the pool proved to be fast for our swimmers, especially this early in the season. There was even a fun pumpkin relay at the end to close out the meet.

It was fun watching Elle Burke win all of her individual events. It was also fun to watch Burke, Sophia Giesecke, Molly Kate Minyard, and Izzy Glover take the top four spots in the 100 IM! Strake Jesuit’s team is very fast this year, but the Stratford boys held their own as well, getting several top finishes. This write-up includes the top eight finishers in each event. You can view full meet results HERE.

We originally had a meet scheduled for Monday, November 4th against George Ranch at the SBISD Nat, but there was a miscommunication on the date and George Ranch is no longer able to come and compete. Our next meet will be the Donut Meet, a prelims/finals meet at our nat, taking place on Friday, November 8th beginning at 9:00 am. Finals will start at 5:00 pm.
