vs. Cy Falls
The Stratford Spartans JV Volleyball Team showed their strength in a decisive win over the Cy Falls Eagles, taking the match in two straight sets with scores of 25–11 and 25–14.
Though the Spartans started off slow, they quickly found their rhythm and took control of the game. Clare Townsend led the charge with powerful serves that kept the Eagles off-balance, setting the tone for a strong performance.
In the second set, the Spartans hit their stride, delivering a series of aces from Gioco, Wakefield, Berg, Burgett, and Barber. Koss, Howard, and Pine anchored the defense at the net. Barber and Townsend expertly set up hitters Nikolovski, Wakefield, and Gioco for some impressive kills. And not to be outdone, the back row was expertly defended by Heineke, Walla, and Burgett.
vs. Cy Ridge
The JV Team continued their winning streak with a solid victory over Cy Ridge, claiming the match in two sets, 25–13 and 25–12.
The Spartans kicked off the game strong with a series of serves from Burgett, setting the tone for the match. Howard and Koss anchored the defense with impressive blocking, while Berg delivered sharp passes, leading to a powerful kill by Koss. Townsend kept the team on target with her precise sets, giving Barber and Nikolovsky opportunities to execute dynamic set-and-spike plays.
The team showed resilience, fighting through a series of errors to maintain their lead. Burgett kept the pressure on with six consecutive serves, followed by a four-serve streak from Barber. Solid teamwork and blocking by Howard, Pine, and Koss contributed to the Spartans’ dominance at the net. With another impressive display of skill, including standout sets from Townsend, the Spartans closed out the match with confidence.
