Varsity Playoffs - 1st Round

Stratford played against Lamar High School in Bi-District competition on Tuesday and advanced to the second round with a 10-2 win. Once again, the girls came to play and won all of their matches. Congrats to girls doubles winners:

  • Erin Bui/Hailey Schifano
  • Brianna Johnson/Sarah Thielemann

and mixed doubles winners Sophia Preng/Kyle Chen.

Sophia and Kyle remain undefeated in match play! A huge congrats to Luka Silbernagel/Christian Nafziger who played the best 9-8 tie-break point ever played. Coach Bianchi said she stopped breathing at least four times during the epic point! Also congrats to the singles winners:

  • Erin Bui
  • Brianna Johnson
  • Sophia Preng
  • Hailey Schifano
  • Sean Zeng

Play was stopped once Stratford met the 10-win mark and advanced to the next round!

Varsity Playoffs - 2nd Round

Stratford met up against Seven Lakes in the second round of playoffs on Thursday and unfortunately, the fall season came to an end. Huge shout out to Brianna Johnson/Sarah Thielemann for their doubles win, the only win for Stratford that evening. Lupe Rodriguez/Maca Rodriguez played some great doubles. Sophia Preng/Kyle Chen were coming back from being down, but lost a close second set. Christian Nafziger/Luka Silbernagel played a tough match. Beckett Willard/Oscar Valle Montero had some close games that went to deuce, but came up a bit short. Seven Lakes is a very talented team and they will go far in the playoffs.
