The Spartans were not to be outdone on a warm, muggy morning on familiar turf. Every runner left it all on the course, providing for a compelling event well attended by Stratford students, band members, teachers, administrators, family members, and fans. The entire Spartan team showed tremendous grit and gave maximum effort battling the competition, heat. and humidity to gain two team championships, two team runners-up, and one fifth place team finish.
VARSITY BOYS
The Varsity Boys placed 1st overall. The meet champs were led by Senior Andrew Hopkins with his first podium visit of the season at 3rd place. Junior Owen Duggan finished in 9th place earning another medal for the Spartans. The grouping of Samuel Jordan, Elijah Roberts, and Braddox Overstreet at 19th, 20th, and 21st secured Stratford’s place on top of the heap.

VARSITY GIRLS
The Varsity Girls finished 5th overall. Freshman Annika Huapaya gave another strong performance, earning 6th place. Freshman Shelbie Waggenspack continued her string of solid performances, and Laura Gonzalez, Ella Moore, and Kaylyn Silva provided an impressive team grouping to assure placement in the team top five. This young Varsity Girls’ team continues to improve every week and is making its mark on the cross-county world!

JV BOYS
The JV Boys finished 2nd in the team competition. Led by Nolan Brock finishing in 6th place, the Spartans finished with five total individual medals with Kaleb Bernat, Bobby Carter, Nate Zoboroski, and Kyle Gray leading the team to its best overall finish of the season. This JV squad is primed to continue the tradition of excellence at Stratford!

The JV Girls finished 2nd overall with freshman Delaney Abowd blazing to 2nd place, and freshman Catie Ruttman cruising to 10th. Clara Forero rounded out our Spartan JV medals finishing in 19th place. Elise Bernadac, Madelyn Box, and Amanda Gonzalez’s solid runs assured the team’s runner-up finish. This marks the JV Girls’ best overall team finish!

FRESHMAN BOYS
The Freshman Boys found themselves on top once again, finishing 1st overall. Yunus Actintas and Ethan Capello cruised to 1st and 2nd respectively. Three more Spartans finished in the top ten: Emmet Odom in 4th, Jacob Pearce in 6th, and Will Fast in 7th. Grant McWilliams and Matteo Estrada both medaled with impressive runs. This is a talented group of freshman boys!
