This week, the Stratford Varsity Boys Water Polo Team participated in the Third Annual CFISD Varsity Water Polo Tournament. In their first game, they were originally slated to play Dawson but a change in schedule led to a meeting with The Woodlands.

vs. The Woodlands:

A strong offense led to a 14 to 8 victory over the Highlanders with Devon Beals, Julian Hemmer, Nathan Moss, and Wade Hicks all scoring multiple goals.

vs. Cy Creek:

In the second game Friday, Stratford boys played a very strong opponent - Cy Creek. After the first quarter, Stratford had an early 3 to 2 lead with goals from Devon Beals, Nathan Moss, and Marin Pavlin. Later in the game, Brock Hunter had a strong defensive effort with a great block preventing a goal, but unfortunately, Stratford was unable to maintain the momentum and ended with a 5 to 8 loss.

vs. Cy Ranch:

In the third and final game on Friday, Stratford boys played Cy Ranch. The boys had a rough outing losing too many turnovers and succumbing to the Mustangs 4 to 16. There were strong offensive performances by Delsyn Brisbin and Ricky Conticello in this game.

vs. College Park:

On Saturday, Stratford started the day off against the College Park Cavaliers. Turnovers were a problem, but the boys finished a strong fourth quarter as they fell short 8 to 12. Gavin Rump added to the fourth quarter offensive 5-point surge.

vs. Cy Fair:

The final game for Saturday was against Cy Fair. Stratford had total participation in this game for a fun 6 to 2 win. First-year-starter at goalie junior Diego Oliver had a good showing all tournament long, and we are hoping that the team is gaining experience that will help come District time!
