On Thursday August 8th, the Stratford Varsity Boys Water Polo Team had a very hard matchup with the Brazoswood Buccaneers from Clute, Texas. Brazoswood is a perennial All-State challenger but did not bring a JV Team, so Stratford played all 17 eligible players. This was invaluable experience, especially for the younger players.

Stratford was down 10 to 0, but in the second half, Stratford started better handling the pressure from the Buccaneers. Brazoswood won the game with a final score of 14 to 3. The Stratford boys had to quickly regroup to play another powerhouse in Dawson this week - the very same team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.
