Three days of District 17-6A Varsity Track and Field competition concluded on Thursday evening at Jersey Village High School. When the dust had settled, the Spartan boys’ 142 points secured second-place overall, and the Spartan girls placed fifth with 66 points. Cy Creek was crowned Boys District Champion and Memorial won the Girls Championship.

The Spartans produced an impressive number of medals on the track and in the field, and a whole host of Spartans advanced to the Area Track Meet next week by finishing top-4. Seven gold medals were won by Spartan boys, led by Luke Rives with four and Ben Pearce with two. Niamh Collins won two gold medals and one silver for the girls, and Kenneth Owen won gold in the high jump, clearing 6-10 and beating his own school record of 6-9.
