vs. Cy Fair

It has been an exciting start to District play for JV-B Boys Soccer. The boy’s first District game concluded with a strong 4-1 win against Cy Fair. Hudson Hennessey scored within the first 30 seconds of the game. Mohammad Al-Mohammad scored second with an amazing free kick from the 32 yard line. Shortly thereafter, Ahmed Al-Mohammad scored on another free kick,  and Hudson Hennessey topped it off scoring on pressure that pulled out the opposing goalie.

vs. Cy Creek

The JV-B Boys second District game was an away game verses Cy Creek. The boys played for approximately 15 minutes before multiple lightning delays ended the game early. In that short time, Mohammad Al-Mohammad executed a beautiful header that made its way into the goal and Hudson Hennessey quickly followed suit with another goal. The game was called due to weather and the Spartans wetly walked away with a 2-0 win.

vs. Northbrook

Last week’s games proved to be a bit more challenging. On Tuesday, the Spartans faced off against Northbrook for a 1-4 loss. The goals were conceded somewhat evenly throughout the game, and the Spartans definitely showed flashes of brilliance. David Chang showed off his strong foot to move the ball up to offense on multiple occasions. Similarly, Ahmed Al-Mohammad and Mohammad Al-Mohammad demonstrated their ball-handling skills with many nice plays down the field. Sasha Otero and Andy Navarro put strong pressure on Northbrook,  resulting in several changes in possession. Last but not least, a true game highlight was when the Spartans surprised Northbrook when a corner kick was taken as a pass and David Garcia popped the ball into the goal to score.

vs. Spring Woods

Saturday morning, rise and shine, JV-B headed over to Spring Woods for a 10 am game. Although the Spartans lost 0-3, they continued to show progress as a team. The game consisted of full-field play throughout, giving all the players plenty of opportunity to contribute. Goalie, Erich Chenghad many excellent saves throughout and on many occasions the Spartan offense outran the Spring Woods defense.

Come out Tuesday, February 6 for the next JV-B home game to see if the boys can continue their “Cy” streak when they face off against Cy Ridge at 4:30 pm.
