VARSITY UPDATE:

Great job on Friday at the Varsity Tournament. Unfortunately, we did not get to finish due to weather but had a lot of players still playing:

Niko and Anna were playing for 3rd place Mixed-A draw.

Luca Silbernagel was in the Finals and Christian Nafziger was playing for 3rd place in Boys Singles - B draw.

Erin Bui advanced to the Finals and Brianna Johnson was playing for 3rd place in Girls Singles-A Draw.

Ruthie and June were playing for 3rd place in Girls Doubles-A Draw.

Tatum and Owen lost in consolation semis of Mixed-B draw.

Anna Salmain and Sophia Kang were playing in the Finals of Girls Doubles-B Draw.

Emerson Hamlin was playing in the semis for Boys singles A Draw-Consolation.

FRESHMAN/JV UPDATE:

After the last few weeks of freeze and rain, oh what a beautiful day for JV and Freshmen tennis. It’s like the skies knew it was our freshmen’s first tournament and wanted to make it a great day!! Everyone played Doubles and got in at least one Singles match. We started the round robin against Jordan.

Winning their doubles: Maca R/Lupe R and Sarah T/Ainsley P.

Singles: Maca R, Sarah T, Ainsley P, and Oscar.

Angelina D/Sahn Y and Riley N/Tyler R lost tight doubles matches 6-8.

Reese S and Tyler Y lost tight single matches 4-6. Almost all the other matches went to deuce that didn’t go our way.

We then took on our rivals down I-10. Winning a tight tie-breaker were Sahn/Angelina in mixed doubles coming from behind twice in the match. Maca won 6-3 (line 1) and Sarah T (line 3) won a tight tie-breaker. It was a great day for Spartan Tennis.
