Before the holidays, the Boys' Basketball Team continued their grueling early season schedule by playing the final two of eight games in nine days.

vs. Cy Ranch

Monday, 11/20, they opened our home schedule with a game against Cy Ranch. It was a very physical game as they were a very seasoned and experienced high school basketball team. It was another tough test for this young Spartan team. The Spartans again competed but came up short 53-37. The Francis brothers, Shia and Seven, led the Spartans in scoring with 10 points each. Wes Wohlfahrt chipped in with 9 points.

vs. Katy Jordan

Tuesday, 11/21, the Spartans ended their short home stand with a tussle against Katy Jordan. This was a very exciting game. The team made runs in this game to keep it close, but down the stretch, shots were not falling as it appeared the grueling schedule took its toll, and they fell short by a score of 52-38. The leading scorers for this game were Shia Francis and Joaquin Andrews, both with 8 points. JD Cheeves and Wes Wohlfahrt contributed 6 points each, Seven Francis scored 5, and Jalen Jefferson chipped in with 4 points.

Next week, Varsity's competitive schedule continues, as on Tuesday (11/28) they travel to Spring DeKaney, and then on Thursday they play in the Katy ISD Tournament. The schedule starts with the Spartans taking on Fulshear, and then on Friday, they will play against one of the better teams in Houston, Katy Seven Lakes, who won the La Joya Tournament we attended last week in South Texas. Saturday the team will take on Klein Oak. No rest for the weary, but the team is steadily making improvements and getting better!
