During the first weekend of the Thanksgiving break, the Boys Golf Team played at the Lufkin Invitational Tournament at Crown Colony Golf Course. The tournament hosted teams from the Dallas, Austin, and Houston areas. Many of the teams we will see again at the UIL State Tournament in April 2024.

On day one, Ben Potter shot an amazing 6 under par to lead the field by 4 shots. The rest of the team played well, shooting 295 total and placing the team in 2nd place after day one.

On day two, the whole field struggled with the wind conditions and green speed. The Spartans struggled in the middle of the round but managed to finish strong and earn a 2nd place finish as a team overall. Ben Potter finished 1st place, receiving the prestigious purple jacket!

The golf team will be back in action on Friday, December 1st at the Dick Harmon Invitational played at Golf Clubs of Houston.
