GAME 3 - Fort Bend Austin
Our JV Lady Spartans followed up our win against Fort Bend Kempner with another solid victory against Fort Bend Austin. A strong team defensive effort of 18 steals kept our opponent at bay, which resulted in them only scoring 24 points.
We started fast out of the gates with 9 points in the first quarter. The Lady Spartans continued hustling and held on to a three-point lead going into the second quarter. In addition to our stifling transitional defense, this game marked our best effort crashing the boards and cleaning up the glass as the team had 29 rebounds.
The Lady Spartans' tenacity eventually led to wearing down our opponent and extended the lead to six points after three quarters. As the fourth quarter continued, our defensive focus increased, which allowed for us to score some easy transitional points.
The game ended with a 31 to 24 victory over Fort Bend Austin.

GAME 4 - Cy Falls
After two consecutive wins, Our JV Lady Spartans travelled to Cy Falls, where they met the formidable Eagles. Our Ladies fought back and forth and only had a one-point deficit at the end of the first half. Timely shooting by Katherine Cronin, Kendall Parker, and Riley O’Connor kept the game close.
The third quarter flipped the script. Our defensive prowess and improved rebounding allowed our JV Lady Spartans to build a five point lead going into the fourth quarter. The lead slipped away in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter when the Eagles were able to hit a jump shot to send the game into overtime. Unfortunately, we were only able to muster up three points while the Eagles collected five points.
