The first quarter was a physical back-and-forth struggle as both teams were still shaking off pre-season rust. This resulted in our Lady Spartans being down 7 to 10.

In the second quarter, Cy Woods was able to find space and extend their lead to 12 to 21 to finish the half.

Our Lady Spartans were able to chip away at the deficit with some momentum attributed to the increased pace and six minutes of suffocating defense and tenacious rebounding. We were able to tie the game in the middle of the quarter. But, Cy Woods countered in the last minutes of the quarter with a barrage of three-pointers.

Entering the fourth quarter with a score of 26 to 33, the Lady Spartans traded points with Cy Woods but were unable to overcome their opponent. They fought hard but suffered a loss of 33 to 40.
