The JV Green Team finished the season strong on Thursday with a 47-7 win over Jersey Village. All three phases were dominant in the win. The defense grabbed the momentum early when sophomore safety Cody Hanlen delivered a big hit on the Falcons’ running back to pop the ball loose and force a fumble. The Spartan offense took over and never looked back.

Sophomore QB Luke Tamez led a balanced attack with downfield throws to Corbin Morris out of the backfield and big rushing yards and physical blocking from Davis Kendall. Morris and Kendall would combine for all 7 touchdowns on the night. Tamez continued to impress with his scrambling ability and accuracy while throwing on the run. He connected with WR Xaviera Campbell down the sideline for an acrobatic catch and found the Flyin’ Hawaiian Liam Bowman for a big reception that would lead to a touchdown. Junior WR Mason Parker also had critical receptions to extend drives in the second half to put the game away.

The defense continued its dominant play with several QB pressures and tackles for loss from defensive ends Jax Blundell and Jackson Holz and linebackers Sam Salas and Dylan WardLucas Thibodeaux and Bradley Olivera were solid on the interior line, and the secondary of Ethan McKnightHunter Williams, Jack McAfeeand Will Tacker shut down the Jersey Village passing game. Olivera provided another gutsy performance by also helping once again with a shorthanded offensive line.

It was a total team effort to close out a successful season for the JV Green Spartans which finished 6-3-1 (5-1-1 - second place in district), with all losses being very competitive contests against much larger schools. Thank you to the fans for your support and to the coaches for their hard work!
