On Friday night, the long-time coach of the Stratford Swim Team, Coach Michael Hoskovec, brought his Dripping Springs Team down to the SBISD Nat for a match-up. We were able to pull out the victory on both the girls’ and boys’ sides, 165-134 and 176-122 respectively, but it was fun to see Coach Hos again along with this wife Jennifer and his daughter Anna. (Laurel, his younger daughter, was competing at State in Cross Country!) For full meet results, click HERE.

Both of our divers beat the Dripping Springs’ divers. Teagan Wegner scored 188.30 points for the girls, and Korbin Irvine scored 204.15 for the boys. In addition, three of our swimmers got the TISCA cuts they needed either in their individual events or by being first in a relay: Wade Hicks got cuts in the 50 and 100 free, Christian Reyes-Torres got a cut in the 200 free, and Bella Smith got a cut in the 50 free. Way to go! It was also great to see former teammate Ali Ezzi swim exhibitions in the 100 free (51.66) and 100 breast (1:05.96). (Ali is a senior but has aged out of UIL high school swimming and is not allowed to score points.)
