On Thursday, the Freshman White Football Team (4-4, 2-1) traveled to play a District game against the Cy Ridge Rams. A back-and-forth struggle between both teams resulted in a 24-21 Spartan loss.

1Q Summary

• A fumbled snap sets up a 2nd and 20. So (#28) floats a pass to Mundwiller (#34) on the inside middle screen that he takes down to the 8-yard line.
• Swing pass to Hearne (#15) for another Spartan touchdown. Two-point conversion fails. Stratford now leads 13-12.
• Rams take over after the kickoff.
• Mundwiller (#34), Berg (#88) combine for the tackle and no gain.
• Cy Ridge tries a double reverse, but the Spartan defense is ready and holds it to a four-yard gain. Rams forced to punt after Rodriguez (#40) chases down the QB on third and long.
• Luke Schifano (#18) returns the short punt for Stratford. Spartans attempt a long pass, but it falls incomplete to end the half.

3Q Summary

• Stratford forced to punt on the possession despite a nice So (#28) to Wright (#83) pass completion.
• It doesn’t take long for Cy Ridge to reclaim the lead. A nice pass allowed the Cy Ridge receiver to outrace the Spartan defense and take it to the house.
• The Rams' two-point conversion fails again when Berg (#88) and Rodriguez (#40) force the QB out of bounds. Rams lead 18-13.
• Spartans set up at their own 40 after a nice kick return by Wright (#83).
• No movement by the offense and forced to punt.
• Rams start possession with back-to-back first-down runs. Rams move the ball down to the Spartan 2-yard line.
• Defense stands tall on the goal line. Mohammad Diaa (#64) with a tackle for loss on the ball carrier, followed by Mundwiller (#34), Wyatt Throckmorton (#85) with another tackle for loss.

• Stratford defense forces a 4th and goal from the 4-yard line.
• Rams QB takes the snap and sprints to the far sideline, converting the score. Jeferson Bonilla (#39) thwarts the two-point conversion with a tackle on the QB. Rams lead 24-13.
• Spartans facing a tough 4th and 8, but convert when So (#28) finds Bell (#4) for the first down.
• Another successful middle screen to Mundwiller (#34) takes the ball down to the Rams' 29-yard line.
• Deep out to Mundwiller (#34) for gain of seven keeps the ball moving.

• A few unsuccessful pass plays set up a 4th and 10, and Stratford decides to go for it. Unfortunately, the pass is intercepted and the Rams take possession.
• Rams run out the remaining time and take a win over your Stratford Spartans in a close one, 24-21.
