vs. Strake Jesuit

The Mighty Spartans squared off in their second District game against their arch-rival, Strake Jesuit this past Tuesday. Unfortunately only one of the two teams came ready to play, and it wasn’t the Spartans. In what can only be described as their worst performance of the year, the Spartans struggled early and often. Turnovers were a huge problem on offense, and the defense had a number of mental lapses that led to easy goals for the Crusaders. Strake took the wind out of the Spartans' sails with a flurry of quick goals and then kept their foot on the throttle in route to an embarrassing 16-1 loss for the Spartans.

vs. Bridgeland and Friendswood

Fortunately the boys were able to put that loss behind them and get to their winning ways over the weekend with two victories over some lesser competition. These games produced great team effort, with nearly every starter scoring goals, with Luke Barber, Lucas Storey, Josh Rebollar, Nathan Moss, Ricky Conticello, Marin Pavlin, and Devon Beals all contributing. Sam Brooks also got his first Varsity goal.

The real test will come this Friday when they take on Memorial for round 2 of District play. Please come out and pack the house again and help cheer the boys on to the season sweep of the Mustangs this Friday at 7:00 pm at the SBISD Natatorium.
