vs. Northbrook - (Win 7-1)

Stratford earned a victory over the Northbrook Raiders last Monday evening. The Spartans unfortunately lost a based-loaded, no-outs opportunity to a double play by the Raiders, but still managed to get on the board in the first inning. Jessica Youngblood led the Spartans at the plate, going 2-2. Stratford collected 5 hits on the night, compared to Northbrook’s 1. Freshman pitcher Gwyn Katterhenry earned the win for Stratford. She threw 7 innings, allowing one hit and one run, while racking up 16Ks.

vs. Spring Woods - (Win 12-2)

The Stratford Spartans won big over the Spring Woods Tigers on Senior Night! Seniors Kirby Crow, Hayden Houser, Adrianna Estrada, as well as senior managers Taylor Sanders, Brianna George, and Shelby Blackwood were honored before the game. Estrada got things going in the first inning with a triple down the left-field line. Kaitlyn McGuire led the Spartans at the plate,  going 2-2. Senior pitcher Hayden Houser earned the win for Stratford. She threw 2 innings to start the game. Gwyn Katterhenry came in for 3 innings to close out the game in the 5th inning via run rule.

vs. Cy Ridge - (Win 11-0)

The Spartans defeated the Cypress Ridge Rams 11-0 as Hayden Houser and Gwyn Katterhenry threw a combined shutout. A great night when both the offense and defense work together to command the game! The Spartans capitalized on two errors in the second inning and put up 6 runs all on two outs, half of those runs coming from a 3-run BOMB by Marina Taveras. Stratford collected 11 hits on the night, compared to Cy Ridge’s 2. Stratford pulled away for good in the 5th inning: Taveras, Adrianna Estrada, and Allison Hibbetts each had multiple hits for the Spartans. Houser earned the win for Stratford. She threw 4 innings, allowing 0 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 5. Gwyn Katterhenry came in to close out the game, throwing 1 inning with 2 Ks.
