Next on the schedule was the Spring Woods Tigers. A Tuesday evening contest against Spring Woods would be the only game played due to the inclement weather the rest of the week. The Spartans made the one game count, taking the lead early and then relying on their offense to eventually run away with a 22-9 victory. The second game of the week has been rescheduled and will now take place at noon on Saturday, April 15 at The Backyard.

Highlights:

Spartans 22 - Tigers 9:

The Spartans jumped out to the early lead scoring nine runs over the first two innings and then capped it off with a nine-run seventh inning to post the final score. Thomas Cloud started the game and picked up the win (2I/3ER). Cade Hanlen (2I/2ER), Luke Barre (2I/0ER), and Christian Merchan (1I/0R) all pitched in relief. The offense unleashed a season-high, 17-hit barrage to record their second highest run total of the season. Leading the way with three hits apiece were John White (2B/2RBI) and Ethan Gentil (RBI). Adam Gilbert (2RBI) and Maddox Garnero (2B,3B/5RBI) each added two hits. Braxton Wakefield (3B/RBI), Brecken Menuet (2RBI), Henry Braniff (RBI), Alex Skoutelakis (2B/2RBI), Ryan Healy, Blake Barry, and Tucker Copeland (3B/3RBI) rounded out the offense contributing a hit each.

Next Up: A busy week as the Spartans battle the Cy Ridge Rams on Tuesday (@ Cy-Ridge) and Friday (@ The Backyard) plus the Spring Woods make-up game at noon on Saturday at The Backyard. The Spartans are currently riding a five-game District winning streak (5-2) which is good enough for third place and stand 16-6 overall.
