JV Baseball Wins a Pair of Games at Cy Creek

The JV Baseball team won a pair of games at Cy Creek on Wednesday.

Stratford 9 - Cy Creek 3

Cy Creek took an early lead with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Stratford scored a run in the third on a Mac Greene RBI groundout,  and then exploded for 8 runs in the fourth. After two walks, Bo Harrison, Luke Zilafro, and Cooper Harrison hit back-to-back-to-back doubles, driving in four runs. After another walk and a hit,  batter Rylan Reichenau added another double, driving in two more. Travis Jones drove in the seventh run of the inning on a groundout,  and Reichenau scored the final run of the inning on a wild pitch. Cy Creek added a run in the fourth to close out the scoring. Ford Givens started for the Spartans and pitched four innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks, striking out 8. Caden Cooper closed the game, pitching a clean inning, striking out 2.

 

Stratford 6 - Cy Creek 0

Cooper Kemp and Christian Ramirez combined for a 5-inning no-hitter in the Stratford shut-out victory. Kemp pitched three innings, walking 2 and striking out 6. Ramirez pitched the final two innings, walking 1 and striking out 4. Stratford opened the scoring with two in the first inning. A Kemp single drove in Rylan Reichenau, who led off the game with a double. Bo Harrison singled, and then Cooper Harrison followed with another to drive in the 2nd Stratford run. Stratford added another pair of runs in the 3rd inning. Eric Ferworn led off with a single, and following a Kemp double, two hit batters led to Stratford's third run. Ranes Denman added an RBI single to close the scoring in the 3rd. In the 5th, Cooper Harrison led off with a single, and after a Ramirez walk and a fly-out, Jackson Golden had an RBI groundout. Finally, after an Ethan Burk walk, Ferworn drew a bases-loaded walk to close the scoring.
