Region V-6A Championship Meet

On Thursday, February 2nd, both Stratford Divers competed at the Regional Meet at the Cy-Fair Nat. Senior Belle Burkhart finished 15th with a finals score of 220.55 for the girls, and sophomore Korbin Irvine finished 13th with a score of 279.70 for the boys.

On Friday and Saturday, February 3rd and 4th, the Stratford Swimmers competed in the Regional prelims/finals meet at the Cy-Fair Nat for a chance to compete at the State Meet coming up in two weeks. Only the top 2 places in each event are guaranteed a chance to go to state. The next hope is to be one of the next fastest 8 times in the entire state and get a call-up. (not easy!)

Advancing to State outright are:

Girls 200 free relay (2nd, 1:37.83) with Allison Ortiz (24.76), Lindsay Wong (25.33), Izzy Glover (24.14), and Elle Burke (23.60)

Elle Burke in the 500 free (2nd, 5:00.07)

We are hopeful we might get a few call-ups to go to State: Allison Ortiz in the 100 fly, Nathan Moss in the 500 free, the girls 200 medley relay, and the boys 200 free relay. We’ll find out Tuesday evening.
