vs. Northbrook

The conditions at the game Wednesday night weren't the best for us Texans, but our Spartans came out bundled up and ready to play! In the first 15 minutes of the game, the team had good pressure but just couldn't make anything happen. They had a few shots on goal and our defense was strong. With 12:00 min on the clock,  Northbrook took a shot on goal. The first shot hit the post, and they had another opportunity, which was unsuccessful with a great save from our keeper, Jack Bermack. With 9:00 min on the clock,  Northbrook had another shot at goal, which was saved with an amazing defensive play by Carson Rushing.

Goyo Hijosa Larriba made a beautiful run with a great through-ball, but the Northbrook keeper was able to get to it before our striker, Fardin Ansari, could put it in the net. With 6:00 min on the clock,  Fardin Ansari took a shot from the left, but the keeper saved it. The first half ended with a corner kick for Stratford. Andrew Lumpkin attempted a header for a goal, but it went over. End of first half 0-0.

The second half began and at 27:00 min on the clock, Goyo Hijosa Larriba took a shot, but the Northbrook keeper was able to get his hands on it and tipped it over the goal. The rest of the game was a lot of back-and-forth between the teams, but neither team was able to get the ball in the net.

vs. Spring Woods

It was a beautiful day for soccer at Tully Stadium, and the boys came out strong with an early goal. Fardin Ansari scored off a header for Stratford, putting the game at 1-0 through halftime. It was a strong first half for Stratford breaking up offensive plays in the mid-field. Our defensive back line bent but didn't break down.

Once the second half whistle blew, Spring Woods immediately put pressure on Stratford. The tempo changed to favor the opposition, keeping the ball in the Stratford half for the first part of the second half. Spring Woods followed up with 3 unanswered goals. The scored ended 1 - 3 for Stratford's first District loss of the season.
