JV Girls Soccer Torches Cy Creek 11-0

The SHS JV girls started their week off with a great team dinner hosted by the Millers and the Wolfs at the Miller’s amazing home on Monday. Unfortunately, Tuesday’s whirlwind of weather led to a canceled JV game against Cy Fair HS.

The Lady Spartans were ready to play their away game against Cy Creek HS on Friday. Just 9 mins into the game, Chassity Mandley passed to Avery Rushingwho scored; SHS 1- CCHS 0. With 17 mins on the clock, Morgan Long kicked the ball to Chassity Mandleyscoring 2-0. A corner kick by Avery Rushing was headed in by Nicole Abbey to score 3-0. The next play, Avery Rushing takes the ball all the way down to score 4-0 with 8 mins left on the clock. Avery Rushing passed to Chassity Mandley, who puts it in the goal: 5-0. In the last 5 seconds of the half, Nicole Abbey sent the ball to Avery Rushing scoring yet again! Halftime score was SHS 6 - CCHS 0.

The Lady Spartans started the second half with ten players on the field. Five mins in, Avery Rushing scored: 7-0. Then Nicole Abbey scored 8-0 with 24 mins on the clock. Just 6 mins later, Cassidy Syamken boots it in the goal, changing the scoreboard to 9-0. With now 9 SHS players on the field, our defensive players got an opportunity to play offensive positions. A strong strike on the goal by Sarah Fadhli makes the score 10-0. At 3 mins on the clock, Kate Michels passed the ball to Sarah Fadhli, again scoring: 11-0. Playing Cy Creek allowed the JV to practice their touches on the ball and combination play. The final score was 11-0. Way to Go, JV Lady Spartans!

Come out and support the JV girls soccer team at their next two games on Wednesday, February 1 at 5:30 pm at SHS against Northbrook High School and on Saturday, February 4 at 10:00 am at Spring Woods High School.
