vs. Cy Fair

The JV Spartans uncharacteristically struggled vs. Cy Fair, falling 19-39 with the limited scoring distributed fairly evenly.

vs. Cy Creek

They came back on Saturday vs. Cy Creek in a doozy of a game, easily one of the most entertaining of the year. The game was a slugfest with the Spartans falling a little behind early but getting the lead and keeping it, yet unable to stop the bigger Cougars from having their way inside offensively. And then Sophomore Megan Hallmark, who is the straw that stirs the drink, kept herself and her teammates battling in a one-to-two point back-and-forth battle until Sophomore Katherine Cronin, who may be the drink to Hallmark's straw, knocked down a huge three with 2:36 remaining to put the Spartans up by two scores, 35-31. The Cougars would not go away and it took huge defensive stands and uber-important rebounds by several Spartans to hold off their opponents, but it was that three by Cronin that hurt the Cougars psychologically and the game ended 38-35. Hallmark led with 15 and Sophomore Amanda Rutz added seven.
