Varsity Boys Basketball Defeats Cy Ridge, Spring Woods to go 3-0 Overall in the District

vs. Cy Ridge

The Stratford Spartans varsity basketball team played the Cy Ridge Rams on Saturday. After a slight delay due to no referees, the Spartans dominated from the start. The Spartans forced a time out by the Rams after a 13-4 run to start the game with an exclamation point with a two handed jam by Keanu Dawes at the 4:21 mark in the first. The Spartans kept the pressure on and forced another time-out by the Rams with one minute left in the first and a 23-8 lead.

At half, the score was 39-28 as the Rams clawed back within 11 to end the second period. The Spartans came out in the second half and continued to play well. The game appeared to be secured with a late 3rd-period rally in the last few minutes of the quarter with solid contributions from Kamari Stanfill, Keanu Dawes, and Heaydan Daly to secure a 65-44 lead going into the 4th.

The Spartans finished the game and notched a solid win outscoring the Rams 79-55. The game was marked by a solid team performance, balanced scoring, and solid defense.

vs. Spring Woods

The Spartans also won their first district game against the Spring Woods Tigers on January 4th. The team played strong with many contributors, including Keanu Dawes with 22 points, Cameron Cronin with 15 points, and Paul Skoutelakis with 14 points. Wes Wohlfahrt, Triston Williams, and Heaydan Daly put points on the board contributing to the team's third district win. The Varsity Boys Basketball Team is off to a great start: 3-0 in District play.
