vs. Klein Collins

The Sophomore basketball team had a good return to action this week. Early week action against Klein Collins started slowly down 10-0 followed by a 72-19 sprint that was driven by high intensity defense and consistent team basketball on offense. The team finished with 19 assists, led by Andrew Marks with 6 assists, and dominated the glass with 4 players with 6+ rebounds (Ethan White 9, Cameron Cocheu 8, Luke Pine 6, Andrew Marks 6). Every player scored in this game including Kolt Kurek (12), Andrews Marks (11), and Cameron Cocheu (10) pacing the offense.

vs. Strake Jesuit

Friday night was a big matchup with Strake Jesuit on the road. The game was back and forth with the Spartans holding onto the lead as Strake pushed. The final was 58-52 as the boys pulled away late in a tight game. Statistically it was a very balanced game. It was a hard-fought win in a close game and the boys worked hard fending off the aggressive Strake team.

Ethan White 8 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal

Caden Bush 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 deflection

Kolt Kurek 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block

Andrew Marks 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 3 deflections

Cole Messer 5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 1 deflection

The sophomore team wraps up non District play 9-1. They have found their identity in aggressive ball pressure defense and sharing the ball on the offensive end. They will open District play Friday at Northbrook.
