vs. Fort Bend Austin

The Junior Varsity team dominated Fort Bend Austin. Sophomores Meghan Hallmark and Katherine Cronin looked the part of a famous duo known as Michael and Scottie as they eviscerated the Bulldogs with steals, assists, fast breaks and points galore! A Hallmark steal and score put the Spartans up 6-5 in the first quarter. Cronin followed with back-to-back steals, feeding Hallmark both times. Hallmark scored off the fast break on the former and gave the assist to sophomore Gretchen Loveless on the latter to go up 11-7. Loveless was a power in her own right, grabbing rebounds and scoring. A sweet bounce pass into the paint from Hallmark to sophomore Kendall Parker made it 17-7. Cronin on the left wing pump-faked her opponent and drove for the pull-up and score, and the Spartans were up 21-8 at the half. Hallmark passed to Cronin on the right wing for the three-pointer to start the second half. Loveless grabbed offensive rebounds and scored in consecutive series. Hallmark scored off a steal then came back to feed sophomore Sierra George on a sweet pass to extend the lead to 32-10. Cronin hit George, who let loose from the wing to make it 42-11. Hallmark to Cronin on the right wing resulted in a three-pointer. Hallmark had more steals than a Paris pick-pocket artist as she closed out the game with yet another steal and score to make the final 53-18. Loveless led all scorers with 16. Cronin scored 14. Hallmark had 13, and Parker finished with 8.

vs. Cy Falls

Unfortunately, the good times did not continue for the JV Team on Friday. Cy Falls prevailed 48-27. Hallmark led her team with 6 points. Loveless, Cronin, and Autumn Rutz each had 4 points.

The JV and Freshman teams will next compete in the SBISD Sub-Varsity Tournament Dec 1-3 at Stratford/Memorial.
