JV Volleyball Goes to 16-0 on the Season, Wins Katy/Cy Fair Tourney!

Stratford JV Volleyball had an incredible week, defeating Kingwood, Seven Lakes, Cy Springs, Cy Fair (twice!), Bridgeland, and Cy Ranch! The girls capped off the week by winning the Katy-Cy Fair Tournament for the first time and bringing their season record to 16-0.

The week started with a 2-0 win at Kingwood. Sarah Hickman led the team with 9 kills. Setters Jenna Rae James led with 12 assists, followed closely by Brooke McAfee with 11 assists. Libero Ariel Robles kept the ball in play with 16 digs.

Thursday, the Katy-Cy Fair tournament began with a close win versus Seven Lakes followed by a win over 25-6, 25-8 win over Cy Springs led by Outside Hitter Sydney Pera.

Friday, the Lady Spartans shocked Cy Fair with a 25-9 start to the first district home game, which they won in two sets. Outside Hitter Gwenyth Koss led with 11 kills and 9 digs. Middle Blocker Hailey Tacker executed a season high of 15 serves with zero errors.

Saturday, the JV team faced their toughest competition of the year. After beating Cy Fair for the second time, they battled the undefeated Bridgeland team and won 25-16, 25-22. The girls played the championship verses Cy Ranch, earning the Champion title in straight sets.

Throughout the day, Avery Kent and Addy Lanning shined with an average of 5.3 kills (hitting efficiency .542) and 4 kills (hitting efficiency .467) per match, respectively. Libero Ariel Robles was on fire, adding 27 crucial digs needed on defense.
