The No. 7 area ranked Spartans started a busy week hosting St.  Agnes. In front of a raucous crowd, Stratford prevailed in straight sets, avenging a loss from last year to the TAPPS 6A state runners up.

Varsity next travelled to Leander, Texas for the annual Volleypalooza tournament. The tournament allowed the team to face off with some of the best programs in the state and build camaraderie. The trip included a trip to the Oasis and a team talent night competition. The tournament itself proved to be a rollercoaster of highs and lows and a good testing ground for the upcoming heart of the season.

The Spartans went 2-1 on the opening day to advance to the top half of the tournament, with wins against top pool seed Boswell and Alamo Heights and a loss to a tough Westlake squad. Friday saw Stratford hit a wall in a difficult pool with losses to tournament no. 2 seed Prestonwood, Southlake Carroll, and host Liberty Hill. Varsity finished on Saturday with a strong straight set win against Aledo and losses to talented Colleyville and Cinco Ranch squads. The team finished in 27th out of 68 competing teams.

The team celebrated setter Nina Terry hitting the 1,500-assist milestone for her high school career, an accomplishment, made even more amazing given the loss of playing opportunities during COVID. Congrats Nina!

This week's stats include:

Skylar George: 62 kills, 63 digs, 10 aces, 9 blocks

Sharlotte McClintock: 33 kills (.271 hitting efficiency), 21 blocks, 5 aces, 10 digs

Audrey Cook: 69 assists, 29 digs
