The Spartan Varsity Tennis Team competed in the district tournament last Tuesday-Thursday. Nine of our 16 entries made it into the semifinals and top 4 places in their event!

Our 4th place finishers and second team all-district selections were seniors Evelyn Chinchankar and Luke Jiang in mixed doubles, junior Annie Gauderman in girls singles, and sophomores Anna Sanchez and Renee Lee in girls doubles.

On top of those great finishes, we qualified 4 players for the regional tournament on April 12th and 13th, the most players we’ve qualified in 6 years! Finishing as runner-ups in their draws, first team all-district, and advancing to the regional tournament were seniors Claire Hess and Haru Kimura in girls doubles and juniors Anna Thielemann and Mircea Tatulescu in mixed doubles. So proud of these Spartan tennis players!

This upcoming week, JV and Freshmen will be in action Friday, April 8th in their district tournaments. JV will be at Memorial and Freshmen will be here at Stratford. Let’s go Spartans!
