Megan Zuanich, Emma Jackson, Allison Ortiz, Lindsay Wong, and Ariana Zhuri are going to State!

On Friday and Saturday, February 4th and 5th, the swimmers traveled to the Region IV-6A Meet in The Woodlands at Conroe ISD Natatorium. The top 2 finishers in each event are guaranteed a spot at the State Meet, taking place on February 18th and 19th.

Megan Zuanich finished 2nd in the 50 free (23.75, missing 1st by only .01 s!) and the girls’ 200 medley relay also finished 2nd (1:48.61) with Emma Jackson (back, 29.07), Lindsay Wong (breast, 30.22), Allison Ortiz (fly, 26.12), and Zuanich (free, 23.20). They are STATE-BOUND! Way to go, ladies!

The girls’ 200 free relay finished 3rd (1:38.69) with Ariana Zhuri (25.55), Wong (24.66), Ortiz (24.94), and Zuanich (23.54) [Later called up to go to State for having one of the fastest 8 times in the event]

The boys’ 200 free relay finished 5th (1:27.10) with Callum Glover (21.99), Ali Ezzi (21.65), Bryce Oliphant (21.74), and Tyler Barber (21.72)

The boys’ 400 free relay finished 6th (3:10.33) with Ezzi (48.40), Barber (46.86), Lowell Moss (47.70), and Glover (47.37)

Wong finished 6th in the 100 breast (1:08.10) and 9th in the 200 IM (2:09.76)

The girls’ 400 free relay finished 7th (3:45.26) with Grace Stern (56.71), Artemisa De Jager (57.00), Lily Askounis (56.62), and Jackson (55.95)

L. Moss finished 7th in the 200 IM (1:56.63)

Glover finished 8th in the 50 free (21.82) and 12th in the 100 free (48.18)

Ortiz finished 8th in the 100 fly (59.34) and 10th in the 50 free (25.16)

Zuanich finished 8th in the 100 free (53.55)

Barber finished 8th in the 100 free (47.63)

Jackson finished 8th in the 100 back (1:01.36) and 12th in the 100 free (55.92)

The boys’ 200 medley relay finished 10th (1:39.73) with L. Moss (back, 26.15), Gavin Beach (breast, 27.59), Oliphant (fly, 23.63), and Julian Hemmer (free, 22.36)

Oliphant finished 12th in the 100 fly (52.62)

Ashley Cardin finished 12th in the 100 breast (1:12.64)

Gavin Beach finished 13th in the 100 breast (1:00.48)

Gwendolyn Beach finished 13th in the 100 back (1:03.57)

De Jager finished 14th in the 500 free (5:35.45)

Andy Zhuri finished 14th in the 100 back (57.31)

Ezzi finished 15th in the 50 free (22.24)

Nathan Moss finished 15th in the 500 free (4:46.89)
