VARSITY (10-14, 5-4)

Friday night was heart-breaking for the Spartans as they fell in overtime to Cy Fair, 54-52. Stratford won the last matchup in December by two, ironically. Senior Jasmine Green brought a monster effort with 19 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks. Junior JK Cheeves poured in 12 and Senior shooter Audrey Hernandez contributed 10.

Hernandez put together one of her best games in a Stratford uniform with a 20 point, five rebound effort to lead the Spartans to a 56-37 win over Cy Ridge on Tuesday. Green helped significantly with 14 points and seven rebounds. Freshman guard Rachel Ashby contributed eight points and six rebounds and Cheeves scored seven.

The prior Friday saw Spartans crush Northbrook in the Bobcats’ Senior Night, 50-16. The Spartans spread their points out with Hernandez leading with 11, Green with nine, Ashby with seven and Senior Kelsey Blackwood knocking down two treys to contribute six points. Senior Aria Taylor each had five points.

The prior Tuesday the Spartans lost at Cy Creek, 48-43. They struggled to score in the first quarter and were down by five to start the second. The Spartans found their rhythm and kept the points vs. the Lady Cougars even the rest of the game, but those five first quarter points were the difference. Ashby was a force with three three-pointers to help her to a team high 16 points, including seven in the fourth quarter. Hernandez had 13 and Green had 10 to also lead the Spartans.

JUNIOR VARSITY (11-8, 5-4)
The Junior Varsity has started to become tougher defensively and improving offensively since beating Memorial. Friday night saw the JV Spartans best Cy-Fair, 35-29 in a hard-fought game. Junior Lilah Epps led with 11 points. Sophomores Ryen Greenwood, Kendall Zoboroski and Lucien Barone each scored five, along with Freshman Ella O’Connor.

Tuesday saw the Spartans handle Cy-Ridge 37-20. Greenwood was hot with 15 points. O’Connor had six and Sophomore Ella Pezzia had four.

The youngest Spartans continue to shine, beating Cy-Fair 39-30. Kendall Davis was awesome in scoring 12 points and hauling in 16 rebounds plus five steals. Sophia Phongsy scored seven points and Katherine Cronin had six.

They gave a beating to Cy-Ridge on Tuesday, 56-17! Megan Hallmark lead the team with 10 points. Emily Graydon had nine and Chassity Mandley scored eight.
