Last Thursday, the freshman green team faced off in their first big rivalry game against the Memorial Mustangs. They continued their season of dominance with a stunning display of skills, discipline, and most importantly team unity that included team dinners the night before the game. Touchdowns were made each quarter by Denson, Devine, Barry and Anthony. Estrada successfully completed each field goal for the extra points. The defense held Memorial to less than 100 yards of offense. In an offensive stunner, Barry, Biehl, de Leon and Devine shocked the crowd with an unexpected double reverse flea flicker that resulted in a 30-yard gain. The last nail in the coffin was an interception by Vescovo ending Memorial’s last drive. The Spartans took victory with a final score of 28-7. A big shoutout to the strong play of the offensive line: Fry with his consistent snaps, Herrera, Henry, Burle, and Marks and the defensive line: Kemp, Devine, Jones, Grayson, Herrera, and Marks. Thanks to their consistent play, the mighty Spartans head into battle this week undefeated.
