Three Swimming & Diving Athletes Commit to Continue Their Sport in College

On April 20th, swimmer Kara Moss was the third athlete from the Stratford Swimming & Diving Program to commit to compete at the college level. Kara will be joining the Trinity University Tiger Swim Team and will study either Pre-Health or Biology on her way to becoming a pediatric dentist. After seriously considering two other programs, Kara ultimately decided Trinity was the best school for her. “I chose Trinity because of the welcoming atmosphere that I felt when I visited the campus. The academics are high-level, and the team was super sweet when I met them. The school is small, but it’s the perfect size for me, and I am excited to spend the next four years as a Tiger!” As an added bonus, Kara will get to reunite with a former teammate, Morgen Reyna (class of 2018).

Both Sam Jones (diving, Delta State University) and Max Zuanich (swimming, Southern Methodist University) signed on the early signing date, November 11th. Sam knew right away that Delta State was a good fit. “I guess it was just one of those things where, as soon as I stepped on campus, it felt like home. It checked all my boxes. It is a smaller school, which is exactly what I wanted because it’s like a family. Delta State also has an amazing diving program, and in my opinion, one of the best coaches in the US! Go Statesmen!” Sam plans to major in economics and sales and cannot wait to continue his academic and athletic career at Delta State.

Swimmer Max Zuanich chose SMU because in his words, “I fell in love with their dedication to be the best in everything they do, whether that’s in the pool or out. The swimmers as well as the coaching staff made me feel so at home, and everything just felt right. SMU’s hard work ethic was super important to me, but what also really stuck out was the element of fun and making sure I’m enjoying the sport!” Max plans on double-majoring in business and engineering, although he is currently undecided on what specifically he would like to pursue within those programs. Max feels very fortunate that he’s had amazing people throughout his life that have put him on a path to success.

Way to go, Stratford athletes! Stratford America is so proud of you, and we look forward to following your accomplishments in and out of the pool.
