On February 4th – 6th, the Stratford Varsity swimmers and divers that qualified from the District Meet competed at the Region IV-6A Meet, which included 24 Houston-area high schools. It is a very fast, super competitive region, with only the top spot guaranteed to advance to the State Meet. To round out the State Meet, the next 8 fastest times in Texas for each event get called up to advance.
- The women’s 200 free relay with Allison Ortiz, Lindsay Wong, Kara Moss, and Megan Zuanich finished 3rd, but were called up to State with a fast time of 1:37.33.
- The men’s 200 medley relay with Max Zuanich (back), Lowell Moss (breast), Callum Glover (fly), and Jack Brennan (free) finished 5th.
- The men’s 400 free relay with Glover, Tyler Barber, Brennan, and Zuanich finished 6th.
Individually,
- Max Zuanich finished 1st in the 100 free and 3rd in the 100 back (50.17). He was able to advance to State in both events with a call-up in the 100 back. Way to go, Max!
- Kara Moss finished 4th in the 200 IM and 7th in the 100 breast.
- Emma Venghaus finished 5th in the 100 back.
- Megan Zuanich finished 3rd in the 50 free.
- Lindsay Wong finished 5th in the 500 free and 6th in the 200 free.
- Allison Ortiz finished 5th in the 100 fly and 7th in the 50 free.
- Lowell Moss finished 7th in the 200 IM and 9th in the 100 breast.
The divers also had a strong showing:
- Sam Jones finished 4th (421.25)
- Robbie Howell finished 6th (286.80)
- Charlize Spiers finished 6th (312.00)
