On January 8th, the Stratford Swim and Dive Teams competed in a Green vs. Gold meet with their teammates. This was the last home meet at the SBISD Natatorium before the District meets and a chance to honor and celebrate the senior athletes. The swimmers had fun competing against each other in a relaxed environment and participating in fun kick and water polo relays. Coach Hos, who left the position of head swim team coach this past year after coaching the Stratford team for 15+ years, even made a video appearance, giving a special tribute to each senior!

To add a fun twist to the diving competition, the swim team Captains judged: Charlie Williams, Jack Brennan, Kara Moss, and Leah Easton.They did a great job!

In diving, Charlize Spiers competed her back 1 ½ with a twist (a dive she has been working on) with strength and ease. Robbie Howell competed his reverse dive with power and excellence. Our senior diver, Sam Jones, competed his reverse 1 ½ with a strong execution and a tight entrance into the pool.

It was a fun night for our seniors and their teammates and a much-needed chance for senior parents and family to finally cheer on their swimmers and divers in-person. We join with Coach Nastia Pozdniakova, the SBISD swim coach when she said, “Congratulations to all our seniors this year! You’ve made your coaches, parents, and teammates proud! Now let’s have a great championship season!”
