Freshman White

Stratford's Freshman White team gets battle-tested this week against Cy-Fair. The Bobcats eat up most of the first quarter on their first drive, ending with a final QB sneak for a TD -- 2-pt conversion is no good (Score: 0-6). Stratford tied it up in the second quarter with Jake Hearn scrambling to find Cooper Harrison for an 18-yard TD -- PAT no good (Score: 6-6). The next drive, the Spartans' defense held Cy-Fair to a 3-and-out, behind the tackling from Dylan Lopez and Rashad Young. Stratford offense moved the ball down field on runs by Kevin Felix and a reception from Cooper Harrison, who was assisted by great downfield blocking from Jack Stewart. The Bobcats took over on downs, and despite a great tackle in the backfield by Aiden Gelber, they were able to find the end zone on a sweep left -- PAT no good (Score: 6-12).

In the second half, the Spartans go ahead of the Bobcats off of great runs from Kevin Felix and Derrick McGee, who finishes off the drive with a 30-yard TD run -- PAT good by Thomas Dimareli (Score: 13-12). This lead, however, is short-lived when the Bobcats retake the lead behind a 30-yard pass and 40-yard TD run -- 2-pt conversion is good (Score: 13-20). After great running efforts from Felix and McGee, the Spartans have to punt. The Bobcats drove down the field once more for another score -- 2-pt conversion no good (Score 13-26). Despite a great effort behind Hearne finding Stewart for a 25-yard pass that featured great blocking from Owen Sullivan, the Spartans came up short.

Freshman Green

Stratford's Freshman Green team starts on offense and drives to the 10-yard line but turns the ball over on downs. Cy-Fair then drives to their own 37-yard line then throws a bomb for a 63-yard TD pass -- PAT good (Score: 0-7). After several back-and-forth drives from both teams, the half closes with Jack Scott intercepting the pass in the end zone.

In the second half, Caleb Medlock makes a great tackle in the backfield for a loss but the series continues and the Spartan defense is unable to stop the Bobcats' passing game, which eventually finds the end zone on a 43-yard TD -- PAT is blocked (Score 0-13). The next series, quarterback, Jackson Miller hits Braxton Wakefield down the middle on a 35-yard pass and then finds Maddox Garnero on a quick pass, who takes it the rest of the way from 40-yards out -- 2pt conversion pass is good from Miller to Maddox in the corner of the end zone (Score: 8-13). The Spartan defense holds the Bobcats to a three-and-out and after a Spartan punt hits off a Cy-Fair player, Stratford falls on the fumble. Miller then finds Luke Rives, who has a great run-after-catch to get to the 4-yard line. Miller finds Braxton in the back of the end zone for the go ahead TD -- 2pt conversion pass is good from Miller to Johnny Crawford across the middle (Score: 16-13), but Cy-Fair wasn't done. They eventually score on a mis-direction pass in the corner -- PAT good (Score: 16-20). Stratford had one more shot from their own 20-yard line, they drove to their 40-yard line but the Hail Mary was knocked down with only 2 seconds left.
