Lady Spartans Soccer Week of March 2 and March 9

Tuesday March 3rd - On Tuesday evening the Lady Spartans Soccer team took on Cy-Fair at home. 

The match started off evenly, but the Spartans took a lead in the first half and never looked back.  Meredith Clark was able to net two goals as Allison Fuller, Caroline Paul, and Hope Coltrin were able to add a goal apiece.  Caroline Parnell and Rileigh Toner were able to assist two goals each.  Both Erica Eastman and Allison Zilafro were able to keep Cy-Fair far from scoring, and combined were able to finish with a clean sheet.  After a 5-0 victory, the Spartans looked to focus on Friday’s match against the Cy-Falls.

Friday March 6th

Friday’s match against Cy-Falls started off with Stratford in complete control.  With many players out for the evening, the depth of the team prevailed.  Rileigh Toner and Hope Coltrin was able to net a hat tricks for the match, while Cameron Ballard, Caroline Paul and Ally Padron were each able to net a goal.  Caroline Paul was also able to assist thee goals, while Hope Coltrin and Ashton Kettler helped with two each.  Several quick counters by Cy-Falls caused a few mistakes leading to 4 goals for Cy-Falls, but not enough to match the Lady Spartans.  The team was very proud of Allison Zilafro for stepping in as their goalie and playing her first full varsity match in the net.  Another win for the Spartans 10-4 going into their final district match of the season.   

Monday March 9th – Senior Night

The Lady Spartans Soccer team defeated Jersey Village 9-0 for their last district match of the season.  The team started the match off quickly running the score up to 7-0 in the first half.  With most of the match played on Jersey Village’s side of the field, both goalies – Erica Eastman and Allison Zilafro were able to capture another combined clean sheet. 

Obviously, we are very proud of the seniors, their hard work and their dedication to the program over the last four years.  All the Seniors were excited to play their final district match and were ready to go out with a victory! 


The Lady Spartans season ended 16-5-1 in all matches and 12-3-1 in district play.  The Lady Spartans were able to secure 2nd place in district and will start playoffs March 26th or 27th vs. the #3 seed in HISD.  Please come out and support your Spartans and these hard-working ladies!
