Varsity Softball vs. Cy-Fair

Stratford Spartans  fell to Cy Fair 9-8 on Friday on the final play of the game. 

The game was tied at eight with Cy Fair batting in the bottom of the seventh when Eaken singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Despite the loss, Stratford Spartans  did collect 12 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Cy Fair had 11 hits on the way to victory.

Stratford Spartans  opened up scoring in the first inning.  Adrianna Estrada singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Cy Fair tied things up at eight when an error scored two runs for Cy Fair.

Stratford Spartans  scored three runs in the third inning.  Stratford Spartans  big bats were led by Meghan Martinez, Megan Zatopek, and Emma Brown, all driving in runs in the inning.

#17 was credited with the victory for Cy Fair. She lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and eight runs while striking out five.

Saleyna Daniel took the loss for Stratford Spartans . She allowed 11 hits and nine runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Stratford Spartans  saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game.  Estrada, Daniel, and Zatopek each had multiple hits for Stratford Spartans .  Daniel and Estrada each collected three hits to lead Stratford Spartans.
