March 1st update:
Congrats to our state athletes!
Lilly Marrow was 5th in the 50 free with a time of 23.59!
Sean Mokhtari finished the diving competition in eleventh place!
The guys medley (Ryan McCleary, Ford Story, Willy Elmore and Michael Miller) had a great
prelim swim, but we were snake bit once again with a false start.
It was and exciting meet and we will look forward to some more swims in the 4A state meet next
year.

February 8th update:
Varsity: Wow what an exciting meet this last Saturday at the Emmons natatorium! Our Spartan
varsity team came out in full force and put on quite a show by surpassing most of their own
personal bests! Although we came out 2nd overall, our girls and boys swam an awesome race!
Our Girls came in second overall and our boys also came in second to Memorial by only 4 points
so it was really close. Memorial simply had several more swimmers in each heat that simply
gave them the points needed to win but we put up a great fight! Also a big CONGRATS To Coach

Some of our strong finishers at the JV meet were: Julia O’Laughlin: 1st place in the 200 Free and
500 Free! The girls 200 Free relay came in 2nd place and the boys 3rd. Carolina Demeris came
in 3rd in the Breaststroke and Cliff Morris came in 3rd. Taylor Cash came in 1st place in the 50
free and Tony Killough came in 2nd in the 50 and the 100 Free. The boys 400 Free relay came in

January 11th update:
Our Swim Team traveled to Baytown for the Ranger Classic Invitational 2010. 18 Teams from the
area competed in this invitational swimming competition with Prelims on Friday and finals on
Saturday. Congratulations to the Stratford team for a 4th place finish overall! Some of our other

December 17th update:
Our Spartan swimmers and divers have been very active since Thanksgiving with 3 meets in 10
days! This last Saturday, our Natatorium held the SBISD Invite and competed against Cinco
Ranch, Memorial, Westside, Katy, Montgomery, Pope John Paul, Hightower and Spring Woods.
Our Women’s swimming came in 5th place with 236 points, and our Men’s team came in second
with 428 points.
Once again, our diving star Sean Mokhtari came in first place with Thomas Mundy in second place
for both 3 Meter and 1 Meter diving, and Samantha Hicks on 3rd place on the women’s 1 meter
diving! AWESOME!

Conroe ISD Double Dual MEET- Tuesday November 10, 2009 Stratford vs. Tomball High School
and Conroe High School
This was a double duty swim meet with our Stratford swimmers coming in a strong First Place
against the Tomball Cougars and and even stronger first place against Conroe High School.
Michael Miller and Willy Elmore had impressive 100 dashes in the butter and free respectively.
Our 200 Y men’s Relay team came in first and our Boys 200 Yard Free Relay team in second.
Our Girls did a fantastic job with an impressive win of 195 to 68 over Conroe High School and 153
to 128 over the Tomball Cougars. Our Girls’ 200 Y Medley relay A team came in 1st. Other firsts

Our Diving boys had a sweep coming in on first, second and third place. First place was Sean
Mohktari, with Thomas Mundy second and Will Young Third. On the girls our only diving girl

JV Meet against Spring Woods:
The SHS swim team swam Spring Woods high school with a split squad, featuring mostly JV
swimmers. Highlights included Carson Capper and Max Houghton qualifying for the TISCA meet
in San Antonio this week. Multiple Spartans swam to season best times as they defeated the
tigers.
Our Team goes to TISCA in San Antonio this Thursday afternoon to compete against the Southern
Region schools Friday and Saturday. We wish them the best!
November 12th update:
MEMORIAL MEET- Tuesday November 3, 2009.
Despite our loss to Memorial, our kids showed great perseverance and determination till the end.
Our 200 Medley relay teams took 1st in men’s and second in women’s. Katrina showed a strong
finish on the 200 IM for second place while Alejandro Weitzman took first for the Men’s 200 Yard
IM with an impressive 2:07:84! Both Ford Story and Hanna Ashcroft had an impressive sprint in
the 50 free with time of 25:80. Long distance is definitively our strength with Katrina Leyden
coming in first and on the men’s Michael Miller on 2nd and Rob Gahn in 3rd! And congrats to Lilly
Marrow on her 1st place in back and Ford Story on an awesome 1st place in breast! Some of our

WESTSIDE MEET- Thursday Oct 30:
Both girls and boys swimming and diving are off to a great start. In their first meet of the season
at our greatly improved Natatorium, the Spartans showed their strength against the Westside
Wolves by coming in first on both the girls and boys 200 Yard IM! Katrina Leyden came in first on
the 200 Yard Freestyle and Alejandro Weitzman came in second for the boys. Lily Marrow had an
awesome 200 IM with a time of 2:14:93 while our freshman rising star Michael Miller came in
2nd! Julia Hoagland-Sorensen sprinted to first on the 50 free as did Ford Story! As always the
McCleary clan excels in the water with Ryan coming in first in the 100 butterfly with Andrew
showing a good sprint in the 50 free!. Other firsts: Anjelica Rivas in the 500 free, Rob Gahn in the
500 free, Girls and Boys 200 Yard Relay teams, Lily Marrow and Michael Miller in 100 Back,

Conroe ISD Double Dual MEET- Tuesday November 10, 2009 Stratford vs. Tomball High School
and Conroe High School
This was a double duty swim meet with our Stratford swimmers coming in a strong First Place
against the Tomball Cougars and and even stronger first place against Conroe High School.
Michael Miller and Willy Elmore had impressive 100 dashes in the butter and free respectively.
Our 200 Y men’s Relay team came in first and our Boys 200 Yard Free Relay team in second.
Our Girls did a fantastic job with an impressive win of 195 to 68 over Conroe High School and 153
to 128 over the Tomball Cougars. Our Girls’ 200 Y Medley relay A team came in 1st. Other firsts
were Katrina Leyden in the 200 Y IM, Hanna Ashcroft in the 50 Free and the 100 Free!

DIVING:
Our Diving boys had a sweep coming in on first, second and third place. First place was Sean
Mohktari, with Thomas Mundy second and Will Young Third. On the girls our only diving girl
Samantha Hicks came in 2nd.
JV Meet against Spring Woods:
The SHS swim team swam Spring Woods high school with a split squad, featuring mostly JV
swimmers. Highlights included Carson Capper and Max Houghton qualifying for the TISCA meet
in San Antonio this week. Multiple Spartans swam to season best times as they defeated the
tigers.
Our Team goes to TISCA in San Antonio this Thursday afternoon to compete against the Southern
Region schools Friday and Saturday. We wish them the best!
November 12th update:
MEMORIAL MEET- Tuesday November 3, 2009.
Despite our loss to Memorial, our kids showed great perseverance and determination till the end.
Our 200 Medley relay teams took 1st in men’s and second in women’s. Katrina showed a strong
finish on the 200 IM for second place while Alejandro Weitzman took first for the Men’s 200 Yard
IM with an impressive 2:07:84! Both Ford Story and Hanna Ashcroft had an impressive sprint in
the 50 free with time of 25:80. Long distance is definitively our strength with Katrina Leyden
coming in first and on the men’s Michael Miller on 2nd and Rob Gahn in 3rd! And congrats to Lilly
Marrow on her 1st place in back and Ford Story on an awesome 1st place in breast! Some of our

November 4th update:
WESTSIDE MEET- Thursday Oct 30:
Both girls and boys swimming and diving are off to a great start. In their first meet of the season
at our greatly improved Natatorium, the Spartans showed their strength against the Westside
Wolves by coming in first on both the girls and boys 200 Yard IM! Katrina Leyden came in first on
the 200 Yard Freestyle and Alejandro Weitzman came in second for the boys. Lily Marrow had an
awesome 200 IM with a time of 2:14:93 while our freshman rising star Michael Miller came in
2nd! Julia Hoagland-Sorensen sprinted to first on the 50 free as did Ford Story! As always the
McCleary clan excels in the water with Ryan coming in first in the 100 butterfly with Andrew
showing a good sprint in the 50 free!. Other firsts: Anjelica Rivas in the 500 free, Rob Gahn in the
500 free, Girls and Boys 200 Yard Relay teams, Lily Marrow and Michael Miller in 100 Back,
Katrina Leyden and Ford Story in the 100 Breast and the Boys 400 Y Free relay team! Way to go
