SAC Camp Info

By Coach Rankin 04/25/2022, 10:45am CDT

Now that Spring Football is off to a great start, I want to start getting everyone signed up for summer SAC Camp and Skills. This is one of our most important steps in preparation for the fall. SAC Camp will focus on strength, speed, conditioning, and flexibility,  which are all crucial to our success and a huge part of preventing injuries. We also have an hour of skills everyday where we can focus on football techniques, drills, and schemes. This is a time where the team will continue to build on the chemistry and commitment to each other from this spring, so we ask players to attend as many days as possible.

The "soft copy" SAC registration form has QR Codes that will link you to an online registration and a way to pay through MySchoolBucks.com.  The "hard copy" SAC registration form is a way to write in the information and just bring in to the coaches.

If writing a check, please make payable to SBISD.  Financial assistance is also available if needed.

SAC Camp notes:

  • Football players will wear athletic clothes and bring both cleats and tennis shoes.
  • Players should bring a large water bottle and a drawstring bag for valuables.
  • Sunscreen and a small towel are also recommended.
  • 9th-12th grade football players will sign up for Session 2, which is from 8 - 10 am. Skills will be from 10 - 11 am.
  • We will make a SportsYou group for all SAC Camp participants that we will use for weather updates, etc.
  • Updated physicals and Rank One information are both required to attend. The district will provide low-cost physicals at Northbrook HS on May 7th. (SBISD flyer with info)

Spring Football

By Coach Rankin 04/25/2022, 10:30am CDT

Parents and Players,

Our coaches and athletes are so excited to have started Spring Football. The athletes have been working extremely hard since December to make the 2022 football season a success.  Spring Football and Summer SAC Camp are the last two important steps in our preparation for August. Spring is a great time for the players to get fully ingrained in our systems of play and to showcase their skills after months of hard work.

Please remember that Spring Football practices are mandatory and absences should be communicated in advance when possible. As always, we will be working with our players currently involved in other programs at Stratford. We will be lifting and watching film during the athletic period so that players can leave as soon as after school practice ends. Practices are from 3:30 - 5:30 pm, but we may finish a little earlier on some days.

We will conclude Spring Football with the Spring Game at Tully Stadium on Thursday, May 12th. Sub-Varsity will play at 5:30 pm, and Varsity will play at 6:30 pm. Our Spring Football calendar and several other reminders are listed below.

Coach Rankin

  • If you are purchasing new cleats for the fall, we ask players to stay with mostly black, white, or green cleats. Players need to wear black or white socks for practice. Players need to check with their coach before purchasing any extra equipment, such as visors, sleeves, etc.
  •
  • We will provide Guardian Caps to wear at practice this spring.  This is a soft-shell helmet covering that aids in impact reduction.
  • For players wanting to purchase their own helmet, we can provide the number to our Riddell representative.
  •
  • All communication will go through our SportsYou App.
