Lady Spartan Volleyball Highlights - Week of November 9th

The Lady Spartans rebounded from the previous week’s games and defeated all three opponents last week. The defeated Jersey Village and Northbrook, which secured them a spot in this year’s playoffs. GO LADY SPARTANS.

They prepared for the playoffs by playing a tough and gritty Foster team on Saturday and came out victorious 3 sets to zero. Their energy and focus on was contagious as they prepared for the playoffs. They were digging, setting, hitting and blocking everything that came their way. Every player contributed to the high energy, focus and determination the Lady Spartans played with.

Nina Terry – 5 aces, 82 assists 27 digs

Alexis Andrews – 34 kills, 19 digs

Skylar George – 30 kills, 23 digs

Marjani Stanfill – 19 kills, 7 blocks

Olivia Abbott – 35 digs

Julia Stein – 20 assists

Hannah Ngo – 21 digs

The Spartans continue warming up and preparing for the playoffs with a game against Brenham on Tuesday November 17 at DCC at 5:30 pm. Come out and support the team, as they get ready for the next level.

Lady Spartan Volleyball Highlights - Week of October 26

The Lady Spartans started the second round of district play with some hard fought games, against gritty and determined opponents. Unfortunately, they did not come out victorious in all of the games but they left heart, determination and motivation on the court when they walked off. Their opponents knew they had played a hard fought game and the victory was definitely earned.

The Lady Spartans may have ended the two weeks with a 2-3 record it is not indicative of the effort, hard work and teammate that went into each match. They defeated Cy-Ridge 3 sets to one, and Spring Woods 3-0 sets. With the previous match against Cy-Fair rescheduled to Saturday 10/31 and having played a game the night before, the Spartan were off their game with a 3-0 defeat.

Lady Spartan Volleyball Highlights - Week of November 2nd

The Spartans played a competitive hard fought game against their rivals Memorial by taking them to four sets, something not accomplished in previous games and ended with a 3 -1 defeat. The effort, focus and determination in that game kept it closer than the final score reveals, and the team laid it on the line.

With one day between the emotional tolls of the Memorial match, the Spartans met a determined and focused Cy-Creek team on Friday evening. The Spartans started slow, losing the first set but quickly rebounded to win the second, the game went back and forth until Cy-Creek ended up winning the last set to take the match. The Spartans put forth an effort like no other, and left their energy and heart on the court.

Natalie Winn – 3 aces, 24 digs; Skylar George – 29 kills, 33 digs; Alexis Andrews – 21 kills, 28 digs; Marjani Stanfill – 20 kills, 7 blocks; Sharlotte McClintock – 6 kills, 7 blocks; Olivia Abbott – 29 digs; Nina Terry – 74 assists, 16 digs, 3 blocks, and Hannah Ngo – 13 digs

The Spartans are 3rd in district behind Memorial and Cy-Fair, and look forward to rebounding this week as they push forward for a playoff spot. The last two district games are Tuesday 11/10 against Jersey Village (5:30pm at SHS), and Friday 11/13 against Northbrook (*4:30pm at NHS).
